If you’re reading this blog post, you’re probably like me and love merino wool. Over the years I’ve bought and used lots of different merino wool products, and over the years I’ve come to value some merino wool products more than others. This blog post is intended to showcase a few options in the category of merino wool neck gaiters. You decide which you think is best!

First, this merino wool gaiter from Outdoor Vitals is an absolute steal right now coming in at less than $12 and even less if you have a Live Ultralight Membership since membership includes free shipping, too.

Coming in at 85% Merino Wool and 15% Nylon, the NuYarn technology used in this Merino Wool Neck Gaiter maintains the warmth and antimicrobial properties of merino wool and adds to it the strength of nylon. At less than $12 (the current sale price), this product is a truly incredible value! This is the only merino wool neck gaiter on the list that doesn’t have a rectangular shape!

Second on my list is this merino wool neck gaiter from Kuiu which also features NuYarn technology, coming in at 90% Merino Wool and 10% Nylon. I don’t know what would make this merino wool neck gaiter better than the first one, but considering the full retail prices, it’s nearly twice the price.

Kuiu has been using cutting edge technology for years, and the NuYarn technology used in this Merino Wool Neck Gaiter doesn’t disappoint with its blend of 90% Merino Wool and 10% Nylon, giving an excellent blend that combines the advantages of both materials. Kuiu also is the clear choice is you are a hunter in need of a camouflage pattern for your neck gaiter.

Finally, I want to mention my old tried and true 100% Merino Wool neck gaiter from Buff, which I usually wear doubled up on my head more like a hat. In terms of flexibility, this is the one! I’ve definitely been using merino wool neck gaiters from Buff the longest, so I had to include this on my list. Is it the best? I don’t know, but it’s a worthy contender.

100% Merino Wool Multifunctional Headwear by Buff

This is arguably the most multifunctional of the three presented today, but because it’s 100% merino wool, it’s not as durable as the other two that utilize NuYarn technology and include nylon.

Whichever you prefer, leave a comment below to let me know. I have merino wool neck gaiters from all three companies, and I really can’t decide which I like the most. They all have their pros and cons!
